FLIGHT ASSIGNMENTS For the most part, we do not "assign" Flights or Aircraft to be flown for each pilot/crewmember. These aspects of the Flightsim experience are best left up to the Pilot In Command to decide for themselves. After all, it IS Flight SIMULATION and for fun. You can consider all Crewmembers to be on an "OPEN" bidding process. Look at the Flight Schedule/System TimeTable, old or new, your choice and pick the Flight/Route that best fits your mood that day, where do you want to go, what aircraft do you want to fly? Your aircraft choice presented in your pirep will show what aircraft you chose to "BID" for that flight. Aircraft/Route/Flight Bidding is between you, yourself and your Chief Pilot. If you do not have a Chief Pilot at your Crewbase, consider yourself the Chief Pilot of your Base for that day. Choose your own Flight/Route/Aircraft and fly the routes your way, then post your pirep. (For info regarding pireps, see the pirep guide) As for Flight Planning, you can use the Flightsim software you already have OR you can opt to use the software we reccomend. Our Chairman uses FS Nav (Flightsim Navigator). It comes with a free trial period and is relatively inexpensive as well as easy to use! Otherwise, it's YOUR choice how YOU choose to navigate, after all, You are the Captain! However, to help our New Pilots/Crewmembers get accustomed to flying with us and filing flight reports and to avoid confusion, we start our New Crewmembers out on a simple mission and include the city pairs and aircraft for that route. WE DO NOT OFFER FLIGHT TRAINING Microsoft Flight Simulator provides Flight Training within the software. We consider this more than adequate for hobby purposes. There are also online flight training sites on the net for FlightSimmers who choose to use them. Ask your Chief Pilot or Officers if you have any questions.
